It describes ear problems and their implications, methods of prevention as well as Ear Troubles People who are affected by conductive hearing loss or auditory processing difficulties find it hard to understand what other people say in some situations, may not know that they have a listening problem. If they and the people in their family or in their work place know about the problem there are some simple things they can do to help themselves and each other.
This website is here to help you and other people who are dealing with these problems directly find the information that you need to understand and manage them.
There is also information for those teaching, working with or providing services to Indigenous people that have hearing loss as a result of childhood ear disease.
We developed this website and the resources available on it to help ensure that the negative outcomes that can be associated with conductive hearing loss and auditory processing problems are minimized. We have also developed training packages that help to reduce the risk of social, educational and occupational problems related to conductive hearing loss and auditory processing problems. How Children Get Pussy Ears Poster This wall chart explains how the pneumococcus germ lives in the back of the nose and travels through the eustachian tube to the middle ear space behind the ear drum causing otitis media or middle ear infection. It also depicts the ear drum bulging like a boil because of the build up of pus and then the ear drum perforating causing pusy or runny ears.
How Otitis Media Is Passed On This wall chart is a visual aid for explaining how otitis media is passed between children with runny noses through kissing, sneezing and touching. This helps to explain why keeping children's faces and hands clean should therefore be a priority.
Illawarra Inclusion Support IMPARJA Inclusion in Children's Services Queensland Inclusion Suppot ACT Indigenous Community Volunteers Indigenous literacy Project The Indigenous Literacy Project (ILP) is a partnership between the Australian Book Industry and The Fred Hollows Foundation that raises funds to purchase and supply books and other culturally appropiate material to remote communities where The Foundation works.
We started in 2004 with a simple question: What could we do to help address the current literacy crisis in remote Indigenous communities. We were deeply concerned that illiteracy in many of these communities was a common and critical barrier to the kind of full, healthy and happy life many of us take for granted.
More simply we couldn’t imagine a world without books and reading.

We offer courses for adults who want to learn about God, or about how to help their families and communities.
The College is situated in Casuarina, a northern suburb of Darwin, Australia's gateway city of the North.
'Nungalinya' is an Aboriginal word used by the local Larrakia people, whose land includes the Darwin area. The word refers to Old Man Rock, a reef lying off Casuarina Beach, which can be seen at low tide. The Larrakia people themselves suggested that the College use that name.
We acknowledge the traditional ownership of the Larrakia people over the land on which our campus is built.

Parenting SA is administered by Children, Youth and Women's Health Service, responsible to the Minister for Health.
Formed on 1 July, 2004 as part of the Government's commitment to improving South Australia's health system, the Children, Youth & Women's Health Service brings together two South Australian organisations, Child and Youth Health and the Women's and Children's Hospital.
Parenting SA aims to:
•give recognition to the important and demanding role of parenting!
•promote the status of parenting
•promote the importance of effective parenting practices
•provide information based on the latest research
•inform parents about resources available in South Australia
•support parents in building on their knowledge, skills and confidence

Programs are held in the community for families with children aged up to 3 years. Music is also used as a way to stimulate, develop and nurture family relationships.
