RRACSSU Central opened in 2007, based at Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE) in Alice Springs. We began with a Coordinator and an Administration Officer. Staffing has gradually increased to meet the growing demand for service support. We now have a Coordinator, 2 full time Field Officers and a part-time Administration Officer.

RRACSSU currently provides training and support services to 24 services across the Central Australia and Barkly regions.

Since its beginning, RRACSSU has endeavoured to work collaboratively with other government and non government childrens services providers.
