About RRACSSU

The Regional and Remote Children and Services Support Unit (RRACSSU) Central is an Indigenous Professional Suport Unit (IPSU) funded by Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
RRACSSU Central provides support and professional Development to Aboriginal employees in a variety of childcare settings including; Child Care centres, JET creches, Playgroups, Multifunctional Aboriginal Children's Services(MACS), Out of School Hours Care.
We cover the regions of; Alice Springs, Central Desert Shire, Barkly Shire and MacDonnell Shire.

We can deliver regional workshops, support in the community or service, resources, support in accredted training as well as a range of support and training events in relation to children's services delivery.

RRACSSU publishes a monthly newsletter, develops and distributes training resources in the region and participates in local childrens services interagency events.

At present we operate with the following positions: 1 Manager, 2 Coordinators and 2 part-time Project Officers. One of the coordinators is operating a special project relating to the National Quality Standards (NQS).

Staff

Lisa Albion is our NEW Project Manager.
Julie left in March to start a new career and Lisa has taken on a new role.
Lisa is based at Alice Springs but manages both Central and North RRACSSU.

Jan Fleming is RRACSSU Central's Coordinator also working as a Project Officer visiting and supporting staff in communities.

Sonya Laughton is now part time project officer also managing RRACSSU Central's Administration. Sonya is also studying for her Certificate 111 in CHildren's Services

Rick Fleming is a part time Project Officer focussing on Out Of School Hours Care.

Donna Bradley joined the RRACSSU Central team in February 2011 as a Project Coordinator of a special project which will be completed by June 2012
