Rick Fleming

I had been a teacher in the N.S.W. Department of Education for 24 yrs holding positions in far western N.S.W. including a one teacher school at Pooncarie on the Darling River, Broken Hill ,Young and Quandialla near Grenfell. My last appointment was at an Environmental Study Centre on the Hawkesbury River not far from Sydney.

I worked with children from preschool to university students with additional needs and from diverse cultures including Asian, middle Eastern and Aboriginal students teaching a wide range of topics. These included the history and lifestyle of the Darug Aboriginal people , the impact of European settlement, orienteering, art and craft as well as a number of fun environmental games.

When I arrived in Alice Springs I had no intention of becoming involved in education again but since I have I am greatly enjoying the new challenges and meeting the many dedicated individuals working in the childcare and youth services in the Northern Territory. Looking forward to meeting and supporting you.
